Miranda Hope Jewelry

Miranda Hope grew up along the northern coast of California where her fascination with handmade crafts led her to study sculpture at California College of the Arts in Oakland, California. She was able to design a curriculum around both the sculpture and jewelry departments, merging the two crafts to suit her process. While bridging the two disciplines, she began a line of wearable sculpture. The access to the two departments gave her a wide array of tools and techniques that paved the way to her specific niche in jewelry making and design.

Miranda graduated in 2008 and began an apprenticeship with goldsmith Paula Bailey Brent, and was inspired by her use of raw and minimally processed gemstones. In 2010 Miranda moved to New York City to launch her first line of jewelry which was centered around oversized raw gemstones, hand forged metalwork, hammered textures and a rich natural palette. After 5 years of growing her line in New York, Miranda moved to Los Angeles where she continues to design and create each piece by hand.

Each piece is one-of-a-kind and hand fabricated from start to finish by Miranda. She begins with the stone as the inspiration and works around the specific qualities of each piece to make it a wearable object. The jewels give a nod to ancient handcrafted adornment, a major inspiration for her, while keeping a modern and elegant balance to the aesthetic.
